 1. I am...
... Mark Johnson from Blackburn, UK. I'm 30 going on 12.
I have background in Electrical/Electronic engineering and currently work as a Software Engineer.
I have been involved with computers since the early 80s when I
got my first ZX Spectrum. I then went to on to own a C+4, C64, Amiga 500 and
1200 and finally onto PCs. I always wanted games consoles, but they were
always out of reach.
I did get a hand-held space invaders (it had a top
score of 199 with three different level and really annoying sound effects)
and I loved it until my brother sold it!
2. I got into MAME...
... sometime in the late nineties whilst bored at work one lunch time. I
began looking for a version of Kung-Fu master to play (C64 version never had
the same thrill as the arcade) as I was in the mood to give someone a good
kicking and also Exciting Soccer! Well, I found Dave's Classic Gaming site
and then MAME - my 14.4K modem didn't know what had hit it!!
3. I love playing...
... My favourite games are Kung Fu Master, Exciting Soccer (I got into in
Spain one year on holiday) and Star Wars. I also like playing some of the
newer fighting games such as Mortal Combat.
When I can get time I like to go through all games and pick one I've never
played before - and there are plenty of them!
4. I would like to say to Nicola and the MAME team...
... Top Job! I've never known so many people be so happy with a piece of
software before. You're making many middle-aged people feel like kids again, as well
as giving some of the kids a blast of nostalgia.
